project 02
Tectonics:
Design Principles, Anthropometric and Ergonomic Exploration
Introduction
We will be working with timber and a supporting material (steel or tensile fabric) to understand the nature and characteristics of this special material and how it is to be used in your design. We also learn about the timber’s life cycle, joints, joinery and structural quality and how it works with your assigned supporting material. Next, we have to integrate our design intention (learned from project 1) and structure into our tectonic with anthropometry and ergonomics. We are to chose a banal action (walking, standing, sitting, leaning, sleeping, and running) and study the beauty in the movement of this commonality. The final design will be produced as a scaled model to accommodate a static banal action.
Concept
Elements: Lines
Principles: Unity
Banal Action: Sitting
To create a relaxing space where I am more comfortable.
Spatial Experiences
Offers an enclose space that allows user to sit in various angles and position to have laid back experience. Shades of light depends on the changes of sunlight.
