introduction
This module introduces the components of environmental conditions and issues which focuses on human intervention affecting the environment both positively and negatively and the relationship of buildings with the natural system. This module also aims to facilitate students to create acceptable environmentally conscious and comfortable building designs.
ASSIGNMENT 01
To identify passive design strategies for Shading and Lightning and also analyze the effect of thermal comfort and comfort factors in a person and in a space relating to Shading and Lightning.
To be able to criticize design of the space in terms of thermal comfort by referring to MS1525, UBBL and GBI while suggesting passive solutions for Shading and Lightning.

SHADING
Side conditions
Readings of temperature and photos in the chosen case study facade at different times of day.
Present the analysis of shading in a diagram with solar chart for 4deg N.
Temperature requirement (MS1525, GBI)
Qualitative analysis.
Provide solutions for the existing design.

LIGHTNING
Side conditions
Readings of daylight level and photos in the chosen case study at different times of day.
Present the analysis in lightning contour diagram.
Lighting level requirement (MS1525, GBI)
Qualitative analysis.
Daylighting and lightning condition
Provide solutions for the existing design.

Reflection
With completing Architecture and Environment, I was able to benefit from a variety of new things from the class.

The biggest hurdle in the class for me was when my laptop broke down few days before the due date of my assignment. I lose all of my files and have no choice but to redo my part. Luckily, my teammate was very supportive and I've learnt to improved my rendering skills during the whole process.
Under the guidance of Dr. Siti, I had learnt a lot throughout the whole module such as knowledges on the components of environmental conditions and issues that focuses on human intervention. She also opens up my perspective on the acceptable environmentally conscious and comfortable building designs.
Lastly, I will carry forward the knowledge that I possessed from this module and learn from my mistakes that I have made and not defend them.
